My name is Karoline Mikus and I am an educational sociologist with an entrepreneurial spirit. I am a creative problem solver who is curious about everything that supports educational equity.
Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network in Tübingen. I am interested in the mechanisms behind educational inequality. My research examines strategies of highly educated families to secure their children’s advantages in the educational system. In order to answer this question, I draw on research from sociology, psychology and educational sciences. Methodologically, my research is primarily quantitative in nature.
