Hi, my name is Karoline and I am an educational sociologist with an entrepreneurial spirit. I am a creative problem solver who is curious about everything that supports educational equity.
I am a recent graduate of the Basic and Advanced Track in Design Thinking at at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute in Potsdam and my current mission is to bring Design Thinking to the public administration and schools in Germany. Besides being a lifelong learner, I am working for the City of Wolfsburg as a project manager in the area of educational management.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of Tübingen in 2021 and was until then part of the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network. I am interested in the mechanisms behind educational inequality during early childhood. My research examines strategies of highly educated families to secure their children’s advantages in the educational system. In order to answer this question, I draw on research from sociology, psychology, and educational sciences. Methodologically, my research is primarily quantitative in nature.
