About me

Hi, my name is Karoline and I am an educational sociologist with an entrepreneurial spirit. I am a creative problemsolver who is curious about everything that supports educational equity.

Currently, I am a student of the Basic Track in Design Thinking at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute in Potsdam. Besides beeing a live-long learner, I am working for the City of Wolfsburg as project manager in the area of educational management.

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Tübingen in 2021 and was until then part of the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network. I am interested in the mechanisms behind educational inequality during early childhood. My research examines strategies of highly educated families to secure their children’s advantages in the educational system. In order to answer this question, I draw on research from sociology, psychology and educational sciences. Methodologically, my research is primarily quantitative in nature.
